The Magi Rooms « Thread Started on Feb 22, 2005, 11:45pm »
A special note about the setting. The magi thus far have not been reincarnated persay, but will be soon. Each island has a magi room specifically designed for these characters and their schemings.
Each of the magi rooms, such as Stone Henge, Ritual Circle, and the Grape Gazebo are protected by a nullify spell which prevents their destruction from harmful magics. These rooms cannot be destroyed or manipulated in the way the others can. If a forest fire starts in a forest type room, it will leave its mark persay. But in a magi room, a fire basically cant be started. Most kinetic energy element magics like demi or flame is nullified by the spell. As an example, if a dragon were to blast a breath of fire at Stonehendge itself, a shell of nullify magic will protect it.
The storylines behind these rooms will soon become more obvious as the Magi start to appear.

But... what happens if someone doesn't use magic, but uses flint and a knife? Nothing to nullify in that case because is not magic, nor is it manipulated by some magical beast... like me. *Grins*
Just a thought... And with the nullify, you're gonna tick off the Magi, cause they're not going to have much success lighting their candles for rituals and ceremonies...

Well originally I--*is eaten.*
*lights a match while inside Gold's belly*
um... originally i had decided this because these rooms were zones of tranquility from destructive magics, so that it could be a meeting place where the magi couldnt act on their anger if the situation got heated or what ever. A place that had the nullify spell cast for purposes of 'productive' discussion and such. They would definitly have to start fires and things the hard way. The spell nullified magic but not normal things like swords and stuff. But the magi by now are turning out a little differently from my original idea. I dunno. I'm open to suggestions i guess.

I like the kid's opinion. A nullification ward that is only activated under duress... And if the Magi are deviating away from your original idea, then maybe you should bring this up to the Magi themselves or whatnot and see about either getting them back on track or making a compromise. It is, afterall, your concept and idea... just a thought.
