 A New Discovery

Whoever had built this room was either a genius or a madman, complex design yet flawless application. She explored the forgotten room and quickly knew she had discovered a secret that was exponentially useful. The possibilities were intriguing, a room she wanted to understand completely.

There was very little light inside, yet that was no problem for the girl. As her head tilted up slightly, an unnatural luminosity curled along the underside of her eyes; irises glowing in extremely bright hues of jade. She soon found a candle and flint, lain in waiting as if someone had planned the occasion.

As she held her hand over the flame to direct its light, she noticed strange writing on the walls themselves. She looked them over curiously but soon realized they were written in a dialect she could not comprehend. This mystery was left alone though, flickers of light catching her eye. She moved across the narrow room and set the candle down, reaching up to lay her palms against the wall and peek in a tiny hole in the wall.

From this vantage point she could see the room she had been in earlier, could see almost the entire entry. She grinned behind her veil of secrecy, the tip of her tongue touching her right incisor tooth.

Quietly Kamog walked through the entrance hall. He had three small balls of fire in his hands, and he was juggling them quietly. He had decided, to explore the whole Isle again, he had not done so in much time.

Still juggling the fireballs as if they were not but child’s playing things, he strode through the entry, his orange eyes scanning the room. His eyes seemed aflame, because of the fire he had in his hands. He was careful not to trip, because fire could still be spread by a foolish elemental.

As he walks through the hallway, he looked at himself in the mirror as he always did. He took in his shabby clothing, took in the way he wore them so that they seemed to be luxury. He also paid close attention to his hair, this was not out of vanity, but he noticed some of the ends were smoking and he looked about him curiously.

His hair being lit aflame meant one of two things, one he was nervous, which at the moment he was not, and two, that there was a fire about, that he was not aware off. Moving past the mirror he began to search the halls for this fire.

His searching lead him back to the mirror, which was where he stood and the smoke, came strongest. Frowning he caught all three of the fireballs he was juggling and smothered each in turn. The smoke did not go away so he knew it was not his own magic. Now he pondered if it were the torches on the wall, or the fireplace in the entry. But neither had ever set his hair aflame before....

He stared at the mirror, chewing his inside lip, his hair still smoking. Needless to say Kamog was thoroughly confused, and crossing to the other side of the hallway he sat down, and stared at the mirror, trying to ignore the thick carpet of smoke on the ceiling now.

~Megrim rose her eyebrows, watching Kamog... wondering if he could see her. She squinted her eyes and finally realized that he could not see her, but something was giving her away and keeping him interested. She frowned and looked around, wondering what it could be. Perhaps it was the light from the candle...

She reached behind her candle and cupped her hand behind it, blowing it out quietly. She waited for a moment and then looked out the spy hole, waiting to see what would happen.~

*kamog felt the fire, wherever it was, being tampered with, then he felt the flame put out. He blinked rapidly, as if in shock, for several moments. he had been concentrating on the flame as best his could, the flame cast it's soft light in his mind, and then when it was exstinguished, he felt as if he had just woken from a very deep sleep.

Kamog, frowning and still staring at the mirror, and all about it, got up to check his reflection. Now standing his head was not far below that skmoke that still lingered on the ceiling, now very thick. Looking in the mirror, he saw the smoke on the ceiling, but also saw that he hair had stopped smoking. He frowned still more and then closed his eyes, leaning his farhead against the cool glass of the mirror.

Pushing his will into the search he found the ember on the tip of the candle wik, he did not know it was a candle though, merely that the little glowing ember that the fire had created, was still in existence, though fading quickly. Locking his attention onto the ember he began to feed it heat, through the wall, or even across the isle for all he knew, trying to bring the flame back to life. Hoping to ignite the ember, and the curiousity of whoever had blown it out.*
